Celebrity Cruises

Celebrity Cruises is a Miami-based brand within Royal Caribbean Group. The operator traces its story to 1988, while early passenger operations followed in 1990. Those dates describe different milestones. The present fleet combines large ocean ships with Celebrity Flora in the Galapagos. This reference counts fifteen active ocean and expedition vessels, keeping future river ships outside the scope of an ocean-cruise comparison.

The ship families explain important differences. Millennium and Solstice series have their own public-room arrangements, while Edge series introduced a different design language and features such as the Magic Carpet platform. A shared brand does not establish that every ship has every restaurant, balcony type or suite sundeck. Start with the individual vessel, then compare the accommodation and the sailing instead of choosing from the company description alone.

Celebrity Xcel entered the fleet in 2025. Celebrity Xcite is a separate future ship: the operator documented its steel cutting in October 2025 and expects service in 2028. It belongs in the construction record rather than the active total. Former Celebrity Xpedition and Xploration now operate for another company under National Geographic names. Older pages that mention them do not make them current Celebrity choices.

Fare selection deserves particular attention. All Included combines a Classic Drinks package and Basic Wi-Fi on eligible bookings. General onboard staff gratuities are separate under the current conditions; beverage-package gratuities have a different treatment. Speciality dining and shore excursions should be examined separately. Avoid using the package name as a substitute for reading the actual inclusions, or assuming that an old promotion still applies to a new reservation.

The Retreat is a suite experience with access to Luminae and a private lounge, while the availability of a dedicated sundeck depends on the ship. This is a different decision from merely choosing a larger ordinary stateroom. Families can examine Camp at Sea and the teenage programme against ages and daily arrangements. The line is not restricted to adults, but its family offering should be judged through the actual ship and programme.

Published conditions identify English for announcements, programmes and menus, with regional adaptations on some sailings. Onboard accounts use US dollars, distinct from the purchase currency and from money needed ashore. Finally, Flora's expedition setting requires its own inclusions and arrangements: the general All Included offer excludes Galapagos sailings. Compare those voyages as a separate product rather than applying the large-ship package automatically.
