Celebrity Ascent was delivered by Chantiers de l'Atlantique at Saint-Nazaire on 7 November 2023. The builder's following-day announcement records the handover, while the operator's charter reference places initial passenger voyages in November. The December inaugural itinerary was a later celebration within the same service year. Ascent is the fourth Edge-series vessel and carries IMO 9838400 under Maltese registry.

The ship uses the extended design also associated with Celebrity Beyond. Its own fact sheet describes the additional deck and longer profile compared with the earlier Edge arrangement. The public space therefore needs an Ascent-specific plan. The generic yard page for the whole class shows the smaller lead ship's dimensions and should not be used to shorten Ascent to 306 metres.

Rooftop Garden includes two cantilevered pools, creating a particular relationship between the garden and the ship's side. The multi-level Sunset Bar offers a different outdoor meeting place. Compare those settings with the central resort pool when choosing where to spend time between ports. Weather and the day's programme still influence actual use; an attractive elevated location does not promise a private or quiet space.

Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud is a speciality restaurant with its own design. Grand Plaza and the theatre offer other focal points for an evening. Dining, a drink before a show and a formal performance are separate activities, so check reservations and the programme rather than interpreting the combined restaurant-and-bar count as a number of included restaurants. Suite guests have The Retreat, whose restaurant, lounge and sundeck form a different access arrangement from ordinary accommodation.

The operator lists 3,260 guests at double occupancy, 1,646 staterooms and seventeen decks. Lower berths are not the maximum possible passenger load. The individual technical record gives 326.5 metres overall and 39 metres hull breadth, while operator feet measurements are rounded. Gross tonnage is 141,420. The published 21.8 or 22 knots is cruising speed, so maximum speed remains empty. A rounded crew statement of more than 1,400 is not converted into a precise complement, and propulsion details and any later full refurbishment remain open pending individual reconciliation.
