Gaženica passenger terminal
Gaženička cesta 28 C, 23000 Zadar, Croatia
Passenger terminal outside the peninsula; use assigned cruise berth and entrance.
Port reference
Zadar's cruise calls use two different waterfront areas: the Gaženica passenger port and the passenger quays beside the old-town peninsula. The distinction determines both the transfer and the time needed for a city visit. Do not interpret the general destination name as confirmation that every ship is alongside the historic centre. Check the actual port area and berth in the sailing documents.
Coordinates identify the general port, not a passenger entrance. A dash means the value has not been independently verified.
The port authority identifies the Gaženica terminal at Gaženička cesta 28 C. This passenger facility also handles ferry traffic, with separate operations from its cruise berths. The peninsula passenger port is another location. The authority's cruise calendar explicitly records the assigned port area, making it a useful starting point for planning. Cargo facilities at Gaženica should not be substituted for the passenger terminal simply because they share the district name.
Zadar Airport publishes a bus route serving Gaženica, the main bus station and the old-town peninsula. Its guidance distinguishes the airport-bound stop near the Crodux petrol station from the city-bound stop above the passenger terminal building. These are public transport stops, not promises of boarding beside every cruise gangway. Check the timetable for the travel date and the final path to the assigned passenger entrance.
For rail travel, consult the current HŽ passenger timetable before choosing Zadar as a train arrival. Railway infrastructure or a station symbol alone does not verify a usable passenger service for a particular day. A road connection remains necessary between any inland arrival point and the assigned cruise terminal. Keep the bus station, railway location and harbour passenger gate as separate destinations when arranging transport.
The peninsula waterfront has the Sea Organ and Greeting to the Sun installations. A walk around the old town offers a different experience from remaining near the modern Gaženica terminal. Allow for the transfer back before extending the visit along the seafront. The tourist board's accessibility information describes the old town as partly accessible, so a generally flat waterfront does not establish that every street or ship access is step-free.
The authority's 2026 calendar supports repeated calls by the linked cruise brands in the two port areas. Historical years on the same webpage are excluded from this current-season assessment. Overnight stays count once. The official coordinate identifies Zadar generally rather than the Gaženica passenger doorway.
