AIDA Cruises
AIDA Cruises is based in Rostock and operates as the German branch of Costa Crociere within Carnival Corporation. Its current company profile gives 1994 as the founding year. The first ship entered service in 1996, a different milestone marked by the brand's thirtieth-anniversary celebrations in 2026. The present fleet contains eleven active ships. Earlier vessels appearing in the company's history do not increase that current total.

German is the onboard language, and onboard accounts use euros. These are practical considerations for travellers comparing AIDA with English-speaking lines: booking in another currency does not change the language of the programme or the onboard account. The operator notes that many employees also speak English, without promising an English version of every activity. A relaxed dress approach is another part of the product, but dining venues still have clothing expectations.
The fleet offers different scales of ship. Seven smaller Selection-generation vessels sit alongside AIDAprima and AIDAperla, with AIDAnova and AIDAcosma forming the largest pair. Compare the individual ship's rooms, public spaces and itinerary before assuming a feature is available throughout the fleet. The familiar painted bow is a brand identity, not evidence of identical accommodation or activities.
AIDA Evolution is changing existing ships in stages. AIDAdiva, AIDAluna and AIDAbella have completed their transformations, with Bella returning to guests in March 2026. Mar is due to return in a renewed form around Christmas 2026, followed by Blu in spring 2027. Perla's and Prima's announced work remains future. A renovation programme therefore needs ship-specific dates: an announcement for the fleet does not describe the state of every vessel today.
Fare names also require current reading. The model for new bookings since July 2025 includes COMFORT ALL IN, PREMIUM ALL IN, PREMIUM, CLASSIC ALL IN, CLASSIC and LIGHT. Some allow choosing a particular available cabin, while others allocate the room within the selected category. The ALL IN variants include a drinks package under their conditions. LIGHT can apply a separate charge in certain specialty restaurants, so a general claim that every restaurant meal is included would be misleading.
Two new ships are ordered from Fincantieri for 2030 and winter 2031/32. They are future additions, distinct from maintenance of the eleven active ships. Without an individual verified construction milestone, this reference does not label those orders as physically under construction. Families should likewise compare actual children's facilities and activities on the chosen ship alongside the fare and sailing, rather than relying on a broad family-friendly category.
