About us AIDAstella

AIDAstella joined the AIDA fleet in 2013, completing the sequence of seven Sphinx-family ships built at Meyer Werft in Papenburg. The builder records the actual handover in Emden on 11 March 2013. It belongs to the modified Sphinx class alongside Blu, Sol and Mar, rather than the later Japanese-built Hyperion pair. IMO 9601132 distinguishes this ship across technical references.

The current onboard offering includes the Brauhaus, an Ocean Bar overlooking the stern and Body & Soul Organic Spa. Consider these as different ways to spend time between port calls. A drink outdoors depends on weather and personal preference, while a treatment is a separate choice requiring attention to booking conditions. Choosing a room near a favourite venue can reduce walking, but compare the actual deck position with nearby public activity before deciding.

Theatrium is central to the design and entertainment programme. Its glazed setting creates a different experience from a single enclosed auditorium. A passenger interested in evening performances should check the voyage programme and the relationship between seating, circulation and cabin position. The name of a venue alone does not establish whether every performance will suit every age or whether a particular event runs on every departure.

Completed Marseille maintenance is documented in March 2023. The much larger Evolution programme remains future, with the operator indicating a March 2028 return in its current schedule. Announced restaurants, accommodation changes and redesigned facilities should therefore be checked against the sailing date. A photograph of a proposed space is not evidence that it is available on a voyage before the work.

Current insurance and technical references agree on 71304 gross tons. The individual builder specification gives 253.3 metres length, 32.2 metres moulded breadth and fourteen decks. The operator describes diesel-electric propulsion and its charter inventory explicitly lists 2686 maximum guests. Exact double occupancy, present cabin inventory and crew remain unresolved across conflicting sources. Neither a rounded corporate berth figure nor a generic published speed is converted into a precise passenger or maximum-speed claim.
