About us AIDAsol

AIDAsol entered service in 2011 after Meyer Werft delivered it on 31 March. Built in Papenburg, it is part of the modified Sphinx family with Blu, Mar and Stella. The current Italian-flagged vessel is identified by IMO 9490040. Insurance and technical references support 71304 gross tons, rather than rounded figures in early construction publicity.

The ship has a particular connection with shore power. The builder identifies it as the first AIDA vessel able to shut down most generators while connected alongside. That capability concerns a compatible berth and electrical supply; it does not establish electric propulsion from batteries at sea or a connection at every destination. Compare port infrastructure separately when assessing environmental claims about an itinerary.

Its October 2023 Hamburg yard programme provides a concrete account of recent improvements. The operator documents spa work, refreshed entertainment screens, cabin decoration and connectivity upgrades. For a passenger, these affect different priorities: a treatment appointment, a performance and an internet package each have their own practical arrangements. Installation of communication equipment alone is not a promise of free access, uninterrupted reception or a particular speed throughout a voyage.

The ship's future Evolution stage is scheduled for late 2027. That larger project is distinct from the completed 2023 work. Use the deck plan and restaurant information corresponding to the actual departure when comparing voyages across that change. An earlier sailing should not be described using spaces that exist only in the future programme.

The individual builder page and charter inventory support about 253.3 metres length and 32.2 metres moulded breadth. Diesel-electric machinery is confirmed by the operator, whose charter page explicitly identifies 2686 maximum guests. Cabin inventories and deck totals differ across present and original material, so they remain unresolved here. Exact double occupancy, crew and maximum speed are also left open. This avoids turning a rounded financial capacity, an outside-cabin subtotal or a guest-deck count into a different technical measure.
