About us AIDAperla

AIDAperla entered service in 2017 as the second Hyperion-class ship built for AIDA Cruises by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Nagasaki. The builder records delivery on 27 April 2017, before the ship's European passenger programme. It is identified by IMO 9636967. Current insurance and technical particulars agree on 125572 gross tons, rather than the approximate 125000 quoted at delivery.

The Lanai Bar and surrounding outdoor areas offer a useful starting point for understanding the ship. They provide views across the wake and a setting different from the covered Beach Club. Four Elements combines active facilities, while Theatrium brings entertainment into a central public space. Compare time outdoors, covered pool use and performances against the expected itinerary and weather. None of those preferences requires every sea day to follow the same pattern.

Its 2022 Rotterdam yard work introduced an ice-cream bar and refreshed spa and fitness provision, alongside technical and maintenance tasks. The current individual page still lists that ice-cream venue. This gives a concrete link between the work programme and a present onboard option, rather than treating the most recent year as proof that all accommodation was reconstructed. The documented latest completed refurbishment remains 2022.

The larger Evolution makeover announced for spring 2027 is a separate future stage. The operator describes new dining concepts, changes to children's spaces and additional rooms. At the review date those announcements are not current facilities. A traveller comparing a 2026 sailing with one after the proposed work should use the appropriate deck plan, especially for the location of the Kids Club and any recategorised accommodation.

Current operator and builder references support 1643 rooms, eighteen total decks, 300 metres overall length and 37.6 metres breadth. The charter page explicitly gives 4333 maximum guests. No exact double-occupancy figure is inferred from twice the room inventory or rounded corporate figures. The machinery is diesel-electric with pod propulsion; the builder separately documents LNG capability for hotel operation while docked where available. That is not the same operating arrangement as the later Helios ships. Exact current crew and maximum speed remain unresolved, and 21.5 knots is not relabelled as a verified maximum without an explicit basis.
