About us AIDAprima

AIDAprima entered service in 2016 as the first of two Hyperion-class ships built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Nagasaki. The builder's actual handover was on 14 March 2016, after earlier delivery schedules had changed. Its identity is IMO 9636955. Current insurance and technical references record 125572 gross tons, and the original rounded 125000 is kept separate from that figure.

The ship offers a covered Beach Club, Four Elements activities and a central Theatrium. These are different settings for a sea day: pool time, physical activity and performance do not need to compete for the same part of a traveller's day. The Lanai promenade connects outdoor spaces, while restaurants and lounges offer indoor alternatives. Check activity arrangements for the specific voyage rather than assuming that every venue is open without conditions at all times.

The Patio Bar is associated with eligible panorama accommodation and suites on the current individual ship page. Its private-deck setting should be considered as a category benefit, not described as a public entitlement for every cabin. An ordinary veranda room and a suite can share a broad balcony label while differing substantially in access and layout. Use the actual category and room plan when those distinctions matter.

A completed Rotterdam refurbishment in 2026 is confirmed by the parent company's June account. It describes refreshed Theatrium and Beach Club spaces, new carpet, updated cabins and underwater hull-coating work, completed within fourteen days. These are actual improvements. They remain separate from the larger Evolution project announced for spring 2028, with new dining and family areas still future at the review date.

Operator and original builder support 1643 rooms, eighteen total decks and 300 metres overall length. Breadth is 37.6 metres in the individual primary specifications; a technical database's 37.65 is a slightly different published measure. The operator explicitly gives 4333 maximum guests in charter material. Double occupancy remains unfilled where rounded corporate and other inventories do not establish an independently reconciled exact figure. Diesel-electric propulsion is distinguished from the documented ability to use LNG for hotel demand while docked. This is not a claim of LNG-only sailing. Current crew and a verified maximum speed also remain open rather than transferring figures from Perla.

A dash means no independently verified value is available. Guest counts at double occupancy and maximum capacity are different measures. GT measures enclosed volume, not weight.
