Port reference

Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Santa Cruz de Tenerife is a cruise port in the north-eastern part of Tenerife, not Santa Cruz de La Palma on another island. Tenerife also has the separate southern port of Los Cristianos. These names should be checked before arranging an airport transfer or choosing a ferry connection alongside a cruise booking.

Coordinates identify the general port, not a passenger entrance. A dash means the value has not been independently verified.

The port authority's cruise information distinguishes the Santa Cruz terminal facilities from other passenger and working-port areas. Muelle de Ribera and Muelle Sur have different berthing positions. Your ship's assigned passenger route matters more than a general promise that the port is in the city centre, because the final distance depends on where the vessel is alongside.

Use the designated passenger route between the ship, terminal and city. The authority's visitor guide shows walking, bus and taxi options, but does not turn operational quays into public shortcuts. An airport or excursion transfer must agree with the actual terminal and meeting point in your current documents.

Tenerife has two airports. Tenerife North–Ciudad de La Laguna is codedTFN, while Tenerife South is codedTFS. Aena identifies bus20 between the northern airport and Santa Cruz, and TITSA publishes bus10 between the southern airport and the capital. They are different journeys and must not share one assumed transfer time.

Both bus connections require attention to their city arrival point and a final connection to the cruise terminal. The Santa Cruz interchange is a transport hub, not the ship's boarding entrance. The island also has tram services for urban journeys, which should be planned with the onward walking or road segment rather than treated as a rail service inside the cruise port.

The authority's current calendar records repeated AIDA, TUI Cruises and Ponant visits. Its forecast explicitly remains provisional until shortly before a call, and an overnight arrival/departure is not two separate visits. Plaza de España, the auditorium and MUNA provide city-visit options; trips farther across the island need another transport plan. Match sightseeing to the return route and boarding deadline. The coordinate is the NGA general Santa Cruz port reference, not a passenger-terminal doorway.

Getting there

Airport connections

Check TFN versus TFS first. Bus20 connects Tenerife North with Santa Cruz; bus10 connects Tenerife South with the capital. Add the final terminal connection or a confirmed road transfer.

Rail connections

Urban tram and bus journeys do not end inside the cruise terminal. Use the actual Santa Cruz interchange and onward passenger route for your berth.

Local transport and final connection

Follow designated port passenger routes and the assigned terminal meeting point. City-centre proximity does not make every operational quay a public walking shortcut.
