Explora Journeys

Explora Journeys is the MSC Group's luxury ocean travel brand, launched in 2021 and headquartered in Geneva. It is a separate passenger brand from MSC Cruises within the same privately owned group. A shared parent company does not make the accommodation, dining arrangements or booking conditions interchangeable between the two operations.

Three ships are currently in service: EXPLORA I, EXPLORA II and EXPLORA III. The third joined the operating fleet in July 2026. Three further vessels are under construction, rather than already available to passengers. The completed October 2026 milestones for EXPLORA V and VI provide evidence of actual building progress; their planned future delivery dates remain distinct from present operation.

The onboard proposition centres on suites, dining and wellness. Compare the individual ship instead of assuming every vessel offers exactly the same venues. EXPLORA III introduces changes to the earlier design, including additional culinary concepts and a revised accommodation mix. For a practical selection, consider the reserved suite, public spaces and itinerary together.

English is the main language of onboard communication. The operator also publishes support in Italian, German, French and Spanish, including translated menus, daily programmes and important information. This does not promise every activity or individual interaction in all five languages. Confirm particular requirements against the departure you intend to book.

Onboard currency depends on the itinerary. The booking FAQ identifies euro operation for Mediterranean and Western European voyages, Northern Europe, Iceland and Greenland, and the Red Sea and Arabian Peninsula. It specifies US dollars for its American regions, Alaska and transatlantic Grand Journeys. Check the actual sailing rather than inferring the onboard account from the currency used to purchase a fare.

The brand's expanding programme requires a clear separation between installed equipment and future ambitions. EXPLORA III is its first LNG-capable ship, while later vessels have additional announced technology plans. Fuel capability alone does not establish the fuel mixture used on every voyage. Shore-power connections likewise require suitable port infrastructure before the ship can use electricity from land.

Before reserving, compare what the fare includes with the experiences you intend to purchase separately. Align independent transport with the confirmed embarkation location and schedule. A broad regional description cannot establish time ashore, the distance from a terminal to town or the suitability of a particular suite for your needs.
