About us EXPLORA I

EXPLORA I began passenger operations in August 2023. The operator's first-anniversary account confirms the inaugural journey on 1 August, following delivery from Fincantieri's Monfalcone yard in July. Its early programme linked Northern Europe with later voyages across the Atlantic. That historical sequence explains the ship's introduction without presenting a former itinerary as a permanent operating base.

The builder specifies an overall length of 248 metres and a moulded breadth of 32.6 metres. Current US Coast Guard financial-responsibility records identify the same IMO number and gross tonnage as Fincantieri's individual technical sheet. This registered value is distinguished from the rounded tonnage used in launch publicity. Gross tonnage measures enclosed volume, so it should not be read as weight or passenger capacity.

Installed propulsion uses two electric motors, with diesel generating equipment supplying the electrical system. This is a different starting point from EXPLORA III's LNG-capable design. A general fleet environmental statement cannot establish identical machinery on every vessel. The builder's service-speed figure also remains separate from a verified maximum speed.

The individual ship description presents accommodation with private outdoor space, together with public lounges including Astern Lounge and Explora Lounge. These give different ways to spend time aboard. Compare the actual suite category and position, rather than treating all accommodation marketed under a shared label as equivalent. A larger private terrace may matter differently on a long passage than on a journey dominated by full days ashore.

Current room totals differ between the website and the original builder particulars. This profile leaves the accommodation count unresolved instead of silently copying the launch inventory. It likewise does not turn a room total into double occupancy or assume a passenger maximum from a general marketing figure.

For a useful comparison with EXPLORA II, examine the individual accommodation plan and the confirmed route together. Check the conditions for dining and additional experiences against the reserved fare. Independent transfers should follow the actual embarkation instructions, while plans ashore should fit the published arrival and departure times. The ship's physical scale provides context; the selected voyage determines how guests use its spaces.

A dash means no independently verified value is available. Guest counts at double occupancy and maximum capacity are different measures. GT measures enclosed volume, not weight.
