About us EXPLORA VI

EXPLORA VI is under construction at Fincantieri's Sestri Ponente yard in Genoa. The builder records the start of construction in March 2026 and a subsequent coin ceremony on 26 October. Its presence in the research fleet is therefore supported by actual building milestones rather than an order alone.

The latest programme schedules entry into service for summer 2028. At this review date, that is a plan, not a completed delivery or a passenger-service record. The completion year remains open until the vessel is finished. A ceremonial milestone during production does not establish an operational cruise ship.

VI is intended to complete the initial six-vessel Explora Journeys fleet. That position within the programme is useful context when comparing it with the earlier ships. It does not justify adopting another vessel's tonnage, passenger capacity or room inventory. Final individual documentation will be required even where design concepts are related.

The announced technical programme includes LNG and fuel-cell technology. These remain future equipment claims for a ship being built. They are distinguished from V's stated provision to accommodate fuel cells later. A plan for energy technology does not by itself establish actual operating emissions, fuel availability or the way equipment will be used on a particular voyage.

For travel planning, separate the ship's proposed features from the conditions of an individual published sailing. Compare suite arrangements, port times and included services when that information is available. A fleet launch timetable gives less practical detail than the exact embarkation instructions and route attached to a booking.

This profile records the genuine construction status while leaving unverified final particulars open. It will require review after delivery and confirmation of passenger operation. Before organising transport or accommodation around a future cruise, consult the latest departure-specific information. That approach lets travellers consider the planned ship without confusing an evolving project with a vessel already carrying guests.
