About us EXPLORA IV
EXPLORA IV is under construction at Fincantieri's Sestri Ponente yard in Genoa. Its first steel was cut in September 2024, and the builder records its technical launch in March 2026. These completed industrial milestones distinguish the vessel from a ship that exists only as an announced order. They do not establish that it has begun carrying passengers.
The latest October 2026 construction update places delivery in spring 2027. That remains a future target at this review date. The built year and passenger-service year are left open until completion and operation can be confirmed. A floated hull still requires further work before the ship can be handed over and enter its intended programme.
IV belongs to the enlarged stage of Explora Journeys' fleet development, following EXPLORA III. Published design material discusses LNG capability and revised accommodation compared with the first pair. Planned equipment and room inventories are treated as specifications for a project, rather than measurements silently certified for a completed vessel.
For a prospective traveller, compare the particular published voyage with the broader ship announcement. Departure dates, boarding arrangements and the room reserved matter more directly than a fleet expansion timetable. Do not organise an itinerary around a construction ceremony: a launch at the yard is a production event, separate from a guest-facing maiden journey.
This record deliberately keeps unverified final tonnage, capacity and registry particulars open. Sister-ship figures are not a substitute for an individual final record. Even closely related vessels can differ in accommodation mix, public spaces or technical configuration by delivery.
When the ship is completed, its individual technical documentation and confirmed first passenger operation will provide the basis for updating this profile. Until then, use the current project status and source dates to understand the limits of comparison. Evaluate the published suite layout, fare inclusions and route together, and check the current conditions before arranging independent transport or additional stays around a future sailing.

A dash means no independently verified value is available. Guest counts at double occupancy and maximum capacity are different measures. GT measures enclosed volume, not weight.
