About us Celebrity Flora

Celebrity Flora is a purpose-built Galapagos expedition vessel that entered service in 2019. Shipyard De Hoop built the hull at Lobith in the Netherlands, with final outfitting in Schiedam. The yard's actual delivery notice records handover on 13 May 2019; the individual operator sheet places the maiden voyage on 30 June. Delivery, naming and the start of guest operations are different milestones, even though they fall within the same year.

Its 100 guests stay in 50 suites, making the onboard scale fundamentally different from Celebrity's large ocean ships. The operator explicitly gives both double occupancy and maximum occupancy as 100. Suite selection includes ordinary verandas and Infinite Veranda arrangements. Those are different ways of connecting the room with the outdoors, so compare the actual category rather than assuming that every suite has the same balcony layout.

The Discovery Lounge supports naturalist presentations and excursion briefings. Seaside Restaurant and Ocean Grill provide indoor and outdoor dining settings, while the marina arrangement supports transfers to expedition tenders. This is a destination-led product: naturalist-guided exploration, wildlife and time ashore shape the day more than a catalogue of large-ship attractions. A particular animal encounter cannot be guaranteed simply because the region is known for that species.

The individual fare description includes onboard food and beverages, staff gratuities and daily excursions. That differs from applying the standard ocean-fleet All Included package to a Galapagos booking. Extended packages can add mainland stays, so compare the expedition itself with the complete trip rather than assuming that every advertised night is spent aboard Flora. The operator's 2026 announcement of the 2028 season distinguishes seven-night expeditions from longer combined experiences.

Dynamic positioning allows the ship to hold station without dropping an anchor in suitable operations. Solar panels supplement electricity; they do not make the ship solar-powered or emission-free. The builder's published machinery account describes diesel generators supplying Steerprop azimuthing units, and the propulsion manufacturer confirms the individual model. Current technical particulars and the builder's principal dimensions support 5922 gross tons, 101.5 metres overall and 17 metres moulded breadth. Older sales material retains 5739 gross tons, which is documented as a conflict. Six guest decks are distinguished from eight total decks. Exact current crew, maximum speed and latest completed refurbishment remain unresolved.
