Port reference

Hobart

Hobart is Tasmania's capital and a cruise gateway on the southern side of the island. TasPorts identifies Macquarie Wharf 2/3 as the principal cruise arrival point, with the MAC 02 passenger terminal on Hunter Street. Additional ships can use the adjacent multiuser berth at Macquarie Wharf 4/5. Confirm the berth and passenger route for the actual visit rather than treating the entire waterfront as a single boarding location.

Coordinates identify the general port, not a passenger entrance. A dash means the value has not been independently verified.

A central harbour setting makes a city outing possible, but the working quays still have their own access procedure. TasPorts describes excursion coaches staged by the ship and visitor services through the cruise terminal. A tour meeting alongside a vessel can therefore differ from an independent pickup outside the building. Keep the actual instructions, especially when a second ship is using the neighbouring berth. Ask the cruise line about assistance for the full route between gangway and vehicle.

Hobart Airport connects with the city by SkyBus, and its transport information also lists taxis and rideshare. The airport bus has designated city stops, rather than a universal stop at each cruise berth. Choose the stop appropriate to the passenger terminal and arrange the remaining walk or road connection. Check the live flight and bus times, luggage handling and the ship's reporting window before relying on a connection. A published average drive time is not a boarding guarantee.

No operating airport-to-cruise passenger railway is asserted here. For an arrival from elsewhere in Tasmania, confirm the road journey and the final terminal destination. The Spirit of Tasmania's mainland crossing is not a direct ferry arrival at this Hobart cruise terminal. An itinerary involving another Tasmanian arrival point needs its own onward travel plan and sufficient time before the ship departs.

Salamanca Place provides a historic warehouse setting with shops, arts spaces and food venues. Its well-known market is a Saturday event, so the market stalls should not be promised for every cruise day. The wider waterfront can be visited separately from the secure passenger area. Plan any longer excursion with the return route and all-aboard time in mind instead of assuming that every attraction is beside the ship.

The published 2026–27 TasPorts schedules support repeated calls by Princess, Celebrity, Viking, Silversea, Azamara and Regent. Overnight stays are counted as individual visits, and non-cruise maintenance entries are excluded. The official coordinate locates Hobart generally, not a MAC 02 passenger entrance.
