Port reference

Brisbane

Brisbane International Cruise Terminal, usually shortened to BICT, is at Pinkenba near the mouth of the Brisbane River. The port operator gives its address as 1 Cruise Terminal Drive, also identifying the location as Luggage Point. This is the destination to use for a sailing assigned to BICT. Do not substitute a city-centre riverfront address or assume that an older reference to Hamilton's Portside describes the same facility.

Coordinates identify the general port, not a passenger entrance. A dash means the value has not been independently verified.

Arrival is an important planning detail because the operator currently states that public transport does not service the terminal. A city rail journey, public ferry ride or airport train therefore needs a separate road connection if it forms part of the itinerary. Confirm a taxi, rideshare or booked transfer and its passenger pickup point. Some navigation systems may recognise Marine Road rather than the newer Cruise Terminal Drive address; the operator explains that the road becomes Cruise Terminal Drive.

Brisbane Airport is the nearby aviation gateway, but an airport arrival is still separate from cruise check-in. Keep the flight terminal, luggage allowance, road transfer and ship's reporting time together when making arrangements. The port publishes indicative driving distances and times; these should not be treated as guaranteed connections. Account for traffic and the actual boarding deadline. Assistance requested from an airline does not automatically continue through the cruise terminal.

The terminal building is open on days when a cruise ship is alongside. It has passenger facilities across two floors, with lifts and travelators. The operator states that luggage trolleys are not provided. Travellers who need help should contact their cruise line ahead of arrival and confirm the assistance available at the passenger plaza. For parking, check the operator's prepayment instructions and the limited drive-up availability instead of assuming every car park accepts an unbooked vehicle.

South Bank, the CBD and the Queensland Cultural Centre are city destinations that require a separate journey from Pinkenba. Select an excursion or independent outing with a clear return arrangement. A river setting does not mean that a public ferry departs directly from the cruise gangway.

Carnival's published 2026–27 programme supports repeated Brisbane sailings by Carnival Encounter and seasonal Carnival Luminosa. The port website also exposes an old 2023 schedule table; its Pacific Encounter name is not reused as today's cruise-line assignment. The official coordinate here represents Brisbane generally rather than BICT's entrance.
