Cruise line

Virgin Voyages

Virgin Voyages is an adults-only cruise line with four current ships: Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, Resilient Lady and Brilliant Lady. Guests must be at least eighteen. That policy is a useful first decision point for families and adult groups alike, rather than a promise that every passenger will want the same kind of holiday. The product emphasises restaurants, entertainment and fitness, but travellers should still compare the individual ship, accommodation and itinerary.

The business was announced as Virgin Cruises in December 2014 with Virgin Group and Bain Capital as founding partners. Later financing included funds managed by Ares Management. Those investor relationships should not be simplified into a claim that one named investor is the sole current parent. The company operates from Plantation in Florida; its brand history is different from the construction and first passenger operation of each vessel.

The current fleet listing separates the four ships and their deployments. A Caribbean departure, a European route and a longer repositioning journey can involve very different patterns of port time and sea days. The shared design family does not make all routes or onboard venues identical. Brilliant Lady is already a fleet member, rather than a speculative future addition. An announced future fleet event likewise should not be described as something already completed.

VoyageFair Choices applies a three-option fare structure to Sea Terrace accommodation and below: Base, Essential and Premium. Introduced for new bookings from October 2025, these options differ in flexibility, dining reservation windows and internet provision. This matters when comparing a current quote with an older travel review. A basic connection for light browsing is different from a streaming-capable allowance, and an earlier booking window is different from guaranteed restaurant availability.

Service gratuities now appear as a separate, visible item under the revised model. Older statements that they are always bundled into the headline fare are therefore incomplete. Check the booking date and terms before comparing totals, especially for a legacy reservation. Included restaurants, selected beverages and group fitness have defined coverage; optional drinks, treatments and other purchases need their own budget.

The onboard account uses US dollars. A fare paid in another currency does not change that shipboard basis. Compare the complete booking cost and the services you actually expect to use, rather than taking the line's inclusive marketing language as an unlimited spending package.

The direct parent of the operating company Virgin Cruises Intermediate Limited is Virgin Cruises Midco Limited. The operator’s own identification and a 2026 Alaska licensing filing establish that specific corporate relationship. It is separate from the ultimate investor mix.
