About us Mein Schiff 6

Mein Schiff 6 entered service in 2017 as the fourth purpose-built ship in TUI Cruises' Turku sequence. The builder's contemporary announcement records delivery on 9 May, before the Hamburg naming on 1 June. The current Maltese-flagged ship is identified by IMO 9753208. Its precise technical gross tonnage is 98811, supported by port records, rather than the approximate 99800 used in some operator publicity.

The covered Arena with its lounge and the Neuer Wall shopping area were individual features highlighted by the operator. They offer different ways to organise time aboard: activity, a pause in a lounge or browsing between other plans. A covered venue should not be interpreted as a promise of identical activity in every weather condition or on every voyage. Check the day's programme and any reservation requirements for the preferred session.

Dining and entertainment can be planned around the ship's existing layout rather than borrowing the later Relax or Flow configuration. Someone attracted by a familiar brand should still compare actual restaurants and public areas. A suite's access conditions and an ordinary balcony room's location are separate questions. The appropriate room plan helps identify the setting that best matches a traveller's routine and the amount of time spent ashore.

The latest completed yard visit documented in the reviewed overview was in Brest in April and May 2022. Maintenance and changes to public areas belong to that completed programme. A further yard visit listed for March 2027 remains future at the review date. It is not used to label current rooms as already renovated or to promise the layout of a later sailing on an earlier departure.

The operator's current technical FAQ gives 1267 rooms and fifteen decks. Its published length of about 295 metres is described more precisely as 295.3 metres in the individual fleet sheet, with 35.8 metres breadth. Published passenger particulars identify 2534 as double occupancy, not maximum. Exact maximum capacity, current crew and maximum speed remain unresolved. Detailed machinery configuration is also left unfilled rather than transferring the newer ships' LNG or methanol systems. The ship's own history and present particulars are the basis for comparison.
