About us Hero of the Seas
Hero of the Seas is Royal Caribbean's fourth Icon-family ship and is still under construction at the checked date. Meyer Turku identifies the Finnish yard and a planned delivery in 2027. Its float-out in September 2026 marked a construction milestone, not the start of passenger service. The 2027 service year in this record is therefore a published plan; Hero does not contribute to the count of active ships.
The operator's technical sheet updated in October 2026 gives planned figures of 248,663 gross tonnage, 364 metres of rounded length and 5,654 guests at double occupancy. It lists 2,814 staterooms, 20 total decks and 18 guest decks. These are published pre-delivery specifications. The builder's broader class summary uses different rounded dimensions and tonnage, so those figures are not combined into a supposed final measurement.
Hero's announced venue mix includes Coconut Cove, Royal Railway — Hero Station and Orleans Parish Supper Club. Ultimate Family Treehouse is a specifically named new accommodation concept. The technical material also identifies Surfside, Category 6, Absolute Zero and AquaTheater. These give useful points for comparing the announced product with earlier Icon-family ships while retaining the distinction between a construction-stage announcement and a facility already experienced by passengers.
The operator describes planned seven-night Caribbean trips from Miami. That programme belongs to a future deployment and should be checked against the actual booking timetable. A planned introductory date can change as construction, testing and operational preparation progress. This reference does not promise that a published ceremonial or inaugural date will be the first passenger departure.
For a future sailing, compare the exact room category, fare terms and named venues rather than transferring every detail from Icon or Star. LNG fuel is identified by the builder, but that fact alone is not a complete environmental assessment. Recheck the ship's delivery status and current operator specifications before making comparisons that depend on final capacity or completed facilities.
