About us Radiance of the Seas

Radiance of the Seas was the first cruise ship Meyer Werft built for Royal Caribbean International and the first vessel of the Radiance class. The yard records completion in March 2001; the operator's sheet places the maiden passenger voyage on 7 April 2001. Those milestones give the ship a clear place in the relationship between the German builder and the cruise line.

The builder describes extensive glazed areas, panoramic glass lifts and a glazed roof over the pool area as important features of the class. Its account also identifies a central atrium extending across nine decks. These are useful architectural details for someone interested in the ship's relationship with the surrounding sea, rather than choosing a holiday exclusively around large waterslide complexes or the newest fleet launch.

The technical reference used here is 90,090 gross tonnage, 293 metres of length and 2,143 guests at double occupancy. The builder's defined moulded breadth is 32.2 metres. A single deck total is not asserted because the operator and builder count different scopes. Within the facilities list, the climbing wall, mini golf, Solarium and Vitality spa and fitness areas provide concrete places to investigate when planning time onboard.

The operator itinerary checked for 29 October 2026 is a four-night Tampa roundtrip with a Cozumel visit and cruising days on either side. This is a dated example, but it makes an important planning point: a short Caribbean holiday can still leave substantial time aboard the vessel. Read the actual sequence before deciding how much of the trip will be devoted to sightseeing.

For a cabin choice, connect the desired view with the places where you expect to spend that time. Review the exact category and its surrounding spaces on the current plan. Radiance's architecture and documented capacity offer a specific alternative within the fleet, while the itinerary determines how that setting becomes your holiday.
