About us Jewel of the Seas

Jewel of the Seas completes the four-ship Radiance series built by Meyer Werft for Royal Caribbean International. The yard records delivery in 2004, and the operator's factsheet gives 8 May 2004 as the maiden-voyage date. That place at the end of an established series is useful background for comparing the ship with Radiance, Brilliance and Serenade without assuming that every published capacity or venue detail is identical.

The checked references support 90,090 gross tonnage, 293 metres of length and 2,191 guests at double occupancy. Both the operator and builder list 1,097 passenger cabins, and the builder defines a 32.2-metre moulded breadth. As with the other members of this family, a single total deck figure is not asserted where the sources use different counting conventions.

The builder describes the series' glass-rich public architecture and panoramic lifts. Jewel's own facility list adds concrete places to investigate, including the climbing wall, mini golf, Solarium and the spa and fitness areas. These help form a picture of time onboard that is more specific than a general age or size category. Match that picture with the activities your party will actually choose, rather than treating all Royal Caribbean ships as the same product.

The published example departing Tampa on 27 October 2026 is a six-night roundtrip with Cozumel, Roatan and Puerto Costa Maya, plus cruising days before and after the calls. The dated route demonstrates how a Florida embarkation can combine several western Caribbean destinations within one holiday. Confirm the selected departure's own sequence and actual port times when planning anything ashore.

For a room, weigh the importance of your outlook against the paths to your preferred public spaces. Check the sleeping configuration for the people travelling together and read the category description alongside the deck plan. The ship's established design, source-defined guest capacity and specific itinerary then become separate, useful parts of the decision.
