About us Grand Princess

Grand Princess entered service in May 1998 as the ship that gave the Grand family its name. Fincantieri built it in Monfalcone, and the current individual identity is IMO 9104005. Its long operating history includes substantial changes, so an original silhouette or opening-season venue list is not a reliable description of today's ship. A more recent sister may share a family name while retaining a different stern arrangement.

The most recognisable change came in 2011, when the elevated Skywalkers structure was removed. The One5 became the later nightclub setting instead. This is why a generic Grand-family description that automatically includes Skywalkers is misleading for Grand Princess itself. The change also illustrates why a refurbishment should be understood through the actual work rather than only a year beside the ship's name.

The Piazza is a social centre, supported by International Café and other nearby food and drink choices. Main dining rooms Botticelli, Da Vinci and Michelangelo provide a different meal pattern from Crown Grill or Sabatini's speciality reservations. Alfredo's Pizzeria is another named option. Compare the booked fare's dining rules and the meals you actually want; a familiar restaurant brand does not determine whether every visit is included.

For evenings, Princess Theater, Vista Show Lounge and Explorers Lounge provide separate indoor settings. Movies Under the Stars adds poolside screenings. A group can choose a shared meal and then different entertainment, using the daily timetable rather than assuming everyone needs the same activity. The availability of youth facilities and accessible accommodation should likewise be checked against the specific ages and needs travelling.

Current operator and insurer agree on 107,517 GT, distinct from the rounded 109,000 in an original builder reference. The standard fleet base is 2,610 lower berths, with 1,150 crew. Current product information and a separate deck inventory agree on 1,301 rooms, replacing an older 1,303-room fact sheet. Fincantieri rounds the length to 290 metres and gives 36 metres moulded breadth. A later completed yard period in 2025 is recorded separately from the major 2011 layout change. Neither room totals nor all-persons limits are presented as a verified maximum guest count.
