About us Discovery Princess

Discovery Princess completed the six-ship Royal-class sequence when it entered passenger service in March 2022. The first departure sailed from Los Angeles towards the Mexican Riviera on 27 March, after handover earlier that year. Its name does not indicate an expedition ship: this is a large Princess cruise vessel built at Fincantieri's Monfalcone yard, with theatre entertainment, multiple dining rooms and extensive balcony accommodation.

The two Sky Suites are a particular accommodation feature, but their large outdoor areas should not be used to describe every suite or balcony. The operator separately lists window suites, mini-suites, premium oceanview and interior rooms. Compare the individual category, its position and the layout for the exact booking. An impressive top suite says little about a standard room's space or exposure to nearby public areas.

Discovery is one of the two ships offering 360: An Extraordinary Experience. This combines a seven-course meal with projected storytelling and other sensory elements inspired by the Mediterranean. It is an experiential reservation rather than an ordinary main-restaurant dinner. Current operator guidance treats experiential dining separately from Plus and Premier packages. Check availability, dietary arrangements and the charge before making it the centre of a special evening.

Other evenings can be organised around Princess Theater, Princess Live or Vista Lounge. Movies Under the Stars adds an outdoor screening option. SeaWalk is a distinct place to look down through glass and out towards the sea; it is not a promise of a private view from a cabin. Youth spaces divide activities between The Treehouse, The Lodge and The Beach House, so age and programme details matter for family planning.

A completed Singapore drydock in November 2025 brought maintenance and updates to public areas and accommodation. The current insurer records 145,281 GT and IMO 9837468, while several operator and builder summaries round the tonnage to 145,000. The individual builder gives 330 metres overall and 38.38 metres moulded breadth. Published 3,660 lower berths and 1,830 rooms are useful comparison figures, without turning the builder's all-persons safety limit into a passenger maximum.
