Port reference

Kobe

Kobe is a Japanese cruise port in the Kansai region with two distinct passenger terminal areas. Kobe Port Terminal at Shinko Pier 4 is different from Naka Pier Cruise Terminal beside the Meriken Park waterfront. Confirm the actual assignment before selecting a transfer or railway stop. The city name alone does not identify a ship's check-in entrance.

Coordinates identify the general port, not a passenger entrance. A dash means the value has not been independently verified.

The city gives Kobe Port Terminal's address as 4-5 Shinkocho and Naka Pier's as 5-6 Hatobacho. Naka Pier occupies part of the Meriken Park Oriental Hotel building, but that does not make a hotel booking or lobby arrival equivalent to cruise check-in. Use the current sailing instructions for the passenger floor, berth and permitted entrance. The two facilities have different final approaches.

Kobe Airport has a Port Liner connection to Port Terminal station, making the airport and terminal route different from an arrival at another Kansai airport. Check the actual airport code on the flight. A train or bus into the wider region still requires the correct onward connection. No single airport-to-gangway time is promised, and a route to Kobe Port Terminal should not silently be reused for Naka Pier.

For rail arrivals, Sannomiya's urban connections differ from the Shinkansen arrival at Shin-Kobe. The city's terminal guidance describes Port Liner for Kobe Port Terminal and different approaches through the Motomachi area for Naka Pier. Confirm the whole station-to-ship route, particularly with luggage or accessibility needs. A terminal viewing deck is not the same as an operating passenger gate.

Meriken Park and Kobe Port Tower offer a waterfront city visit. Their relationship to Naka Pier is different from their relationship to a ship at Shinko Pier 4. Choose the route using the assigned terminal and the time actually available ashore. An onward visit elsewhere in Kansai requires its own return plan rather than being treated as a neighbouring port walk.

The city's published 2026 spring programme contains repeated Princess, MSC, Azamara, Regent and Ponant entries. They support the regular links without assigning every brand permanently to one terminal. The operator's current arrival list should govern the actual call as plans change. The official coordinate locates Kobe generally and is not the passenger entrance of either facility.

Getting there

Airport connections

Kobe Airport Port Liner connects toward Port Terminal station; another airport needs a different plan, and Naka Pier has a separate final route.

Rail connections

Sannomiya and Shin-Kobe are different rail arrival points. Confirm Port Liner versus the Motomachi-side Naka Pier approach.

Local transport and final connection

Use the assigned terminal address: Shinkocho4-5 versus Hatobacho5-6. A hotel lobby is not cruise check-in.
