About us Oasis of the Seas

Oasis of the Seas is the ship that introduced Royal Caribbean's Oasis class. The operator dates its passenger debut to 2009, and the technical sheet identifies the Finnish builder as STX Europe in Turku. Its age is useful historical context, but it should not be treated as a complete description of today's holiday: the current venue plan is more relevant than an image or review from the launch period.

The dedicated factsheet publishes 226,838 gross tonnage and a rounded length of 361 metres. Of its 18 total decks, 16 are guest decks. Its occupancy reference is 5,602 guests at double occupancy. That defined basis makes the passenger figure useful alongside other ships, while avoiding the mistake of comparing it with a maximum guest total taken from another brochure.

The ship-specific materials describe seven neighbourhoods and identify AquaTheater, Central Park, the Boardwalk and Ultimate Abyss among the onboard points of interest. This layout gives the cabin decision an extra dimension. An outward view and a view into a public neighbourhood are different products, even though both may involve a balcony. Read the category's actual outlook and location rather than relying on a photograph attached to a general cabin label.

For a party interested in performances and public spaces, mark the places you expect to use on the deck plan before choosing a room. The distance to an evening venue may matter more to your day than being close to a particular pool. Families should make the same comparison for their own likely meeting points, including the route back to the cabin when different generations finish their evening at different times.

Oasis is therefore best approached as a particular operating ship with an established design, not merely as the oldest date in an age-sorted list. Compare its current facilities and itinerary with the newer members of the same family, then decide which differences affect your own trip.
