About us Nieuw Statendam

Capacity note: the guest figures discussed below come from older published specifications. The corporate fleet table dated August 2026 gives a different count, so a current comparable capacity remains unconfirmed.

Nieuw Statendam occupies the middle position in Holland America Line's three-ship Pinnacle sequence: after Koningsdam and before Rotterdam. Delivered at Fincantieri's Marghera yard in November 2018, it entered passenger service that December. The permanent identity is IMO 9767106. Despite the shared Dutch naming tradition, Nieuw Statendam is a different ship from the former Statendam vessels and from Nieuw Amsterdam. Those distinctions matter when researching cabins through older brochures or personal travel accounts.

The ship measures 299.75 metres overall and has a moulded beam of 35 metres. Its 99,902 gross tonnage is individually confirmed by both builder and current insurer. It is therefore preferable to rounded launch descriptions when comparing the Pinnacle sisters. Neither tonnage nor a class label tells a traveller how much private outdoor space a particular accommodation provides. Check the category, actual layout and balcony details separately.

The builder lists 1,339 passenger cabins, including dedicated single and family accommodation. The published double-occupancy guest figure is 2,666; it should not be substituted for the maximum capacity. A family room can accommodate a different number of people from an ordinary two-person booking, while solo accommodation makes simply doubling the room count unreliable. Cabin totals and guest counts answer different questions.

A completed yard project in Palermo is recorded by the logistics contractor for November 2023. This provides evidence of actual work rather than merely a proposed maintenance slot. It does not, by itself, establish that any specific new restaurant was installed. The profile consequently avoids presenting unverified renovation features or claiming that every original furnishing remains unchanged.

Technical propulsion uses diesel-generated electricity with two pod units. There is no basis here for describing Nieuw Statendam as an LNG ship. For a practical comparison, weigh its accommodation mix and your selected sailing against Koningsdam and Rotterdam. Sister-ship status offers a useful family resemblance, while their different delivery dates and subsequent work mean that a review of one is not an exact description of another.
