About us Le Dumont d’Urville

Le Dumont d'Urville joined PONANT in 2019, becoming the fourth Explorer. Vard records delivery that June from its Søviknes outfitting yard in Norway, under yard number 851. The current operator history confirms the original service year. The permanent IMO is 9814052, distinguishing the individual hull from the other five ships in the family.

Its present individual inventory contains 92 staterooms and suites, a maximum of 184 guests and 118 crew. These figures should be read on their stated basis. The maximum is not automatically converted into double occupancy, while room-level capacity is not the same as a vessel-wide certified limit. The published complement also differs from a historical crew number associated with another sailing.

The accommodation selection includes balcony rooms and different suite categories. Compare the actual reserved configuration, outdoor area and room position. Connecting arrangements may change how space is used, so the category name alone is not a complete floor plan. A larger suite can alter the balance of living and sleeping space without changing the time the ship spends at a destination.

Explorer facilities include the Blue Eye underwater lounge. The current presentation describes a pool and marina access, as well as theatre programming and wellness areas. A marina supports activities at water level; it does not establish identical access conditions at every destination. Read the booked activity's requirements and daily instructions alongside the general ship features.

The builder gives 131 metres overall length and eighteen metres moulded beam. Current insurance data identifies gross tonnage of 9988 and registry in Mata Utu. These individual particulars provide a consistent identity reference. Generic rounded Explorer figures and total-persons accommodation should not replace the vessel's explicitly identified technical or passenger values.

When planning a trip, weigh the room, route and available dates together. The same ship can offer different daily routines across regions, depending on the balance between sea days, port visits and expedition activities. Confirm the exact embarkation place before booking independent transport. The Explorer family describes the platform; the detailed departure programme describes the journey you are actually choosing.
