About us Le Bougainville

Le Bougainville entered service in 2019 as the third PONANT Explorer. Vard's individual record places delivery in April from its Søviknes outfitting yard in Norway. Yard number 850 and permanent IMO 9814040 identify the actual vessel, rather than a generic Explorer design or another ship carrying a similar name.

The current programme lists 92 staterooms and suites for a maximum of 184 guests, with 118 crew. These are individually published present figures. A maximum guest count does not establish a separate double-occupancy figure, and a builder's accommodation total includes a different population. The capacity basis is retained explicitly for comparison.

Accommodation includes balcony staterooms and several suite configurations. The operator distinguishes categories such as Deluxe, Prestige, Privilege, Grand and Owner's Suite. Those names should be read with the actual reserved layout and confirmed features. A category's advertised guest capacity is a room-level measure, rather than permission to multiply every room's largest possible occupancy into a vessel maximum.

The Explorer design includes the Blue Eye underwater lounge. The current individual presentation also describes a pool, marina access, theatre programming and wellness areas. These spaces support different kinds of time aboard. The destination programme determines how they fit alongside excursions and landings, rather than guaranteeing the same daily sequence on every journey.

Vard specifies 131 metres overall length and eighteen metres moulded beam. Current insurance data records gross tonnage of 9988 and registry in Mata Utu. This ship-specific figure is different from the current entry for the first two Explorers. Family resemblance is therefore not a reason to copy their precise tonnage into Bougainville's profile.

For planning, compare the chosen room and route together. A compact ship can offer a different rhythm from a larger cruise vessel without making every destination or activity available regardless of conditions. Confirm the embarkation location and booked dates before arranging independent flights. Read each shore activity's description and requirements. The detailed programme explains the actual travel experience more clearly than the Explorer label alone.
