About us Le Boréal

Le Boréal began service in 2010 and introduced the design group that PONANT now presents as its Sisterships. Fincantieri built the vessel in Ancona. Its continuing identity is recorded under IMO 9502506, which distinguishes it from later ships in the same series and from similarly named vessels elsewhere.

The operator currently publishes a maximum of 264 guests, 132 staterooms and suites, and 145 crew. Maximum guest capacity and a precise double-occupancy figure are different measures; only the explicitly supported basis is used here. A shipbuilder's total-persons limit also includes people beyond passengers and is not substituted into that field.

Accommodation includes window or porthole rooms as well as balcony categories. A Prestige suite can represent a different configuration from an individual Prestige stateroom, so the booked layout matters. Check the actual category, room number and position relative to public spaces. A general statement about balconies across the series does not establish a balcony in every room.

The current individual insurance entry gives gross tonnage of 10944 and registry in Mata Utu. Fincantieri's technical particulars identify 142.1 metres overall length, a moulded beam of eighteen metres and electric propulsion motors supported by diesel generating sets. Service speed is published, but it is not presented here as a verified maximum. These distinctions keep comparisons on a consistent basis.

Theatre programming, lounges, a pool and wellness facilities are part of the operator's present ship description. For a particular departure, compare the balance between time aboard and destination activities rather than assuming all programmes repeat unchanged. Expedition information and the actual daily schedule explain shore arrangements more precisely than a general ship category.

When comparing Boréal with later Explorers, look at the real deck layout and accommodation selection. The Blue Eye lounge is an Explorer feature, rather than an automatic facility aboard every PONANT vessel. Choose the ship and route together, then check the exact embarkation location and travel dates. The older service year describes the hull's history; it does not by itself describe the condition of every present interior or establish a latest refurbishment date.
