Port reference

Fremantle (Perth)

Fremantle is the cruise gateway often marketed with Perth, but the passenger terminal is in Fremantle itself. The city's visitor information places the Fremantle Passenger Terminal on Victoria Quay. Perth's city centre, the airport and the harbour are separate destinations. When booking a transfer, use the named cruise facility rather than simply asking for Perth or for any ferry terminal on the waterfront.

Coordinates identify the general port, not a passenger entrance. A dash means the value has not been independently verified.

Victoria Quay also contains B Shed's island ferry operation. A ticket for a Wadjemup / Rottnest Island crossing does not identify the cruise ship's check-in point. The maritime museum and other waterfront attractions likewise have their own entrances and opening arrangements. Keep the ship's instructions and the passenger-terminal pickup point when leaving for a visit. The general harbour coordinate in this profile does not mark the passenger door.

Perth Airport publishes transport through the wider metropolitan network. The city visitor guide describes an Airport Line connection with a change at Claremont for Fremantle. Check the current Transperth planner for the flight's actual terminal and day of travel, followed by the last approach from Fremantle station to the passenger facility. An airport train is not a direct gangway service, and rail disruptions can change the connection required.

The visitor guide provides a walking route from the cruise terminal along Peter Hughes Drive, using the pedestrian crossing near the railway station. Assess the complete route with luggage and mobility needs rather than relying on a generic short-walk label. Taxis and booked airport transfers provide alternatives. A city-centre cruise shuttle is arranged for individual visits and must be confirmed with the ship; it is not guaranteed for every passenger or every call.

A vehicle may collect or drop passengers at the terminal car park, but the city guide states that it cannot remain there throughout a cruise. Book appropriate separate parking if needed. Early baggage acceptance and storage should also be confirmed rather than assumed from the presence of a terminal building.

The WA Maritime Museum and Victoria Quay heritage waterfront offer local visits without first travelling into Perth. Check admission and return arrangements for any island excursion. The Western Australian government's October 2026 season announcement confirms a repeated Princess programme, including ten Fremantle-originating Sapphire Princess itineraries in 2027–28; that future programme is not described as already operated.
