Port reference

Corfu

Corfu is an Ionian island cruise destination with passenger operations at the New Port of Corfu Town. The port is a separate location from the historic Old Town and its fortresses. A harbour arrival, an independent city visit and an onward island excursion therefore need different route decisions. Confirm the actual passenger berth and entrance before arranging a transfer.

Coordinates identify the general port, not a passenger entrance. A dash means the value has not been independently verified.

The Hellenic Ports Association identifies the cruise terminal in the New Port. The wider harbour also handles other passenger traffic, including ferries, so the name of a ferry departure point is not a universal cruise check-in address. Keep the boarding instructions supplied for the ship and use them when selecting the last vehicle stop. A port-area bus stop should not be assumed to stand at every gangway.

Corfu Airport serves the island and the city-bus operator publishes line 15 between the airport, Green Bus station, San Rocco and port. Those are distinct stops along a route. Check the current operating timetable and the stop appropriate to the assigned cruise facility. Bus journey time does not include every possible queue, final walk or boarding procedure, and no universal connection is guaranteed here.

For a journey involving rail on the mainland, an additional sea or air segment remains before reaching Corfu. There is no direct mainland railway platform at the island's cruise terminal. The Green Bus station is for intercity island buses, while the urban bus network serves city connections. Verify the correct bus system and destination before treating an island excursion as a simple harbour transfer.

Corfu's Old Town has narrow historic streets between the Old and New Fortresses. The Old Fortress is a distinct visiting site with slopes and its own admission arrangements. Choose a city route that matches walking ability and time available ashore, then plan the return to the actual ship entrance. A longer excursion elsewhere on the island should be considered separately from exploring the town.

The port authority publishes a 2026 cruise programme based on vessel notifications and warns that revisions are possible. Repeated MSC, Costa, Marella, TUI Cruises and Viking Ocean entries support the regular links. Overnight records should not be mistaken for separate visits simply because they span two calendar dates. The coordinate locates Corfu generally rather than a terminal door.
