Havila Voyages

Havila Voyages is the travel brand of a Norwegian coastal operator based in Fosnavåg. The company dates from 2017, while its first passenger service began with Havila Capella in December 2021. That distinction separates the modern business from the much older Bergen–Kirkenes coastal route. The operating company, Havila Kystruten Operations AS, belongs to Havila Kystruten AS; the listed group's current investor information identifies Havila Holding as its largest shareholder.

The current fleet consists of four ships: Havila Capella, Havila Castor, Havila Polaris and Havila Pollux. All four serve the Norwegian coast. The government contract covers four of the eleven ships maintaining the coastal service through 2030. This is a transport network for communities and cargo as well as a holiday product, so a port call can be brief and operational rather than a full day of sightseeing.

Voyages range from port-to-port journeys to longer northbound, southbound and round-trip holidays. A complete coastal journey encounters different landscapes and daylight conditions, but the specific timetable remains essential for independent visits. Check the actual departure, season and time in port instead of assuming that every named destination permits a lengthy excursion.

The ships combine LNG machinery with large batteries and shore charging. The operator describes up to four hours of battery sailing under suitable operating conditions. This is a capability for particular sections, not a claim that the entire present fleet operates every voyage without emissions. Biogas and later technology plans must also be separated from equipment and fuel actually used on a booked departure. On 27 October 2026 the company announced that some planned investment was on hold while the next coastal contract framework remained uncertain; those plans are not extra ships already under construction.

Onboard life places views and Norwegian food ahead of a resort-style entertainment schedule. Havrand provides table-service dining, Havly is the café and Hildring offers a separate fine-dining setting. Panoramic lounges and outdoor areas support coastal observation. Compare the fare's exact meal, drink and excursion inclusions before booking.

The current FAQ identifies Norwegian, English and German as the main onboard languages, with individual crew skills varying. Prices aboard are expressed in Norwegian kroner. These practical details make it useful to compare the route, cabin and fare together, especially when a short transport booking and a full holiday use the same vessel.
