Star Breeze began passenger service in 1989 as Seabourn Spirit. The former operator identifies that original service year, while its contemporary annual report records delivery in 1989. The later Windstar introduction in 2015 is a separate milestone. Renaming did not create a new hull or restart the ship's construction history.
A major transformation was completed at Fincantieri's Palermo yard in November 2020. The Star Plus programme inserted a new mid-body section and renewed propulsion engines and diesel generators, alongside accommodation and public-space changes. This was a completed engineering project, distinguished from the earlier announcement of its intended timetable.
Current operator particulars give 159 metres in length and 19 metres in breadth. Individual insurance records identify gross tonnage of 12969 and IMO 8807997. The precise insurance figure is kept separate from rounded shipyard publicity and a different tonnage shown in the operator's shared deck sheet. Its present dimensions should not be replaced with the shorter original Seabourn-era measurements.
The published maximum is 312 guests, with 156 suites and 200 crew stated separately. This does not manufacture double occupancy from room numbers. The original extended trio also includes Star Legend and Star Pride. They share a transformation programme, while their delivery dates and some room arrangements differ.
Star Breeze's current culinary programme includes Basil + Bamboo, confirmed by the operator's hotel-operations director. His account also places the ship in its Tahiti programme. Those references help explain the present product without promising an unchanged destination base forever. Compare the exact sailing for the places visited and time available ashore.
For accommodation selection, use the actual suite plan and booking conditions. The operator distinguishes modified-accessible rooms from fully unrestricted access, so specific mobility needs require an individual check. Align independent transport with the confirmed embarkation arrangements. A suite's position, the route and the balance between sea days and port calls give a more useful basis for choosing than the general motor-yacht description alone.
