About us Oceania Sirena

Oceania Sirena is a 1999-built R-Class vessel, identified by permanent IMO number 9187899. Current operator particulars list 30,277 gross tonnage and 337 suites and rooms. Its earlier commercial identity includes Ocean Princess. Oceania's 2014 purchase announcement and the actual Barcelona naming ceremony on 27 April 2016 document the transition into its present cruise programme; they do not change the ship's original construction year.

Claudine Pépin served as godmother at that ceremony. The ship's later OceaniaNEXT rebuilding was completed by the time of the operator's 2019 presentation. This is distinct from an old renovation FAQ which still describes a scheduled date. Published accounts of completed work provide the basis for the refurbishment field rather than a timetable alone.

Sirena's restaurant arrangement sets it apart from other R-Class units. Red Ginger provides an Asian menu, while Tuscan Steak combines Italian and steakhouse influences. The current individual dining page confirms that both require dinner reservations. The Grand Dining Room and Terrace Café offer other settings without that reservation requirement. Included restaurant meals do not imply unlimited availability at every preferred time.

In September 2026 Ambassador announced its acquisition of the ship with a leaseback to Oceania through spring 2028. The planned subsequent name is Ambella, for a German-market programme beginning in summer 2028. That is a change of economic ownership followed by a later operating transfer. Sirena remains in the current Oceania passenger fleet and is not simultaneously counted as another active Ambassador ship.

The operator explicitly gives 670 guests on a double-occupancy basis. The Olbia port authority separately lists a maximum of 826 passengers. These figures describe different bases, and neither is calculated from the room count. Today's cabin inventory and services should not be replaced by future Ambella plans, including its proposed seasonal Semester at Sea role.

Onboard accounts use US dollars. New Oceania bookings follow the adults-only rule introduced in January 2026, while earlier reservations containing minors are honoured. Choose the actual itinerary, category and restaurant arrangements when comparing Sirena. Its present identity is a compact culinary-focused ship with a documented history and a clearly separated future operating chapter.
