About us Oceania Nautica

Oceania Nautica is a 2000-built R-Class ship with permanent IMO number 9200938. The current operator page records 30,277 gross tonnage and 340 suites and rooms. Its Oceania maiden programme dates from November 2005, which is a brand-service milestone rather than evidence that the ship was newly built that year. The exact original passenger-service date remains separately unresolved.

Nautica completed its OceaniaNEXT refurbishment and returned to passenger service on 1 April 2022. The parent's contemporary announcement confirms the return, superseding older FAQs that still describe a planned June 2020 renovation. That distinction matters when comparing a ship's completed work with an obsolete schedule interrupted by wider events.

Another transformation is planned for late 2027. Oceania has announced that this same vessel will emerge as Aurelia, with a different accommodation mix designed for extended voyages. It is a future conversion of Nautica, not an extra active ship or a second IMO identity. The proposed 238-room arrangement and lower guest count must not overwrite today's individual inventory before the work is completed.

The present ship offers a smaller-scale alternative to Marina, Riviera, Vista and Allura. The Grand Dining Room, Polo Grill, Toscana and Terrace Café organise dining in different settings. Compare the actual fare and reservation allocation rather than assuming every optional culinary experience is included. The library, lounges and exterior decks provide spaces between destination visits, while room category determines the balance of interior space and private outdoor access.

The operator's capacity FAQ explicitly specifies 670 guests at double occupancy for this R-Class product. A port authority separately records a maximum of 824, a different measurement basis. Neither figure should be substituted for the other or derived from the number of cabins. Current width remains unresolved because the port card's headline and explanatory text use different figures.

Onboard accounts are denominated in US dollars. The January 2026 adults-only rule applies to new bookings, with earlier reservations containing minors retained. Future Aurelia services, accommodations and world-cruise schedules should be evaluated as a separate planned offer. For a current Nautica sailing, use its actual itinerary and room arrangement, including port times and any tender requirements, before arranging independent activities ashore.
