About us Noordam
Capacity note: the guest figures discussed below come from older published specifications. The corporate fleet table dated August 2026 gives a different count, so a current comparable capacity remains unconfirmed.
Noordam is the youngest of Holland America Line's four Vista ships, delivered in 2006 by Fincantieri at Marghera. The present vessel is identified by IMO 9230115. It should not be confused with earlier Noordam ships or treated as part of the separate Signature class merely because the builder discusses the operator's Signature of Excellence improvement programme. That programme name describes an onboard initiative, not this vessel's class.
Exterior lifts on both sides are a distinctive feature of the design. They connect the experience of moving through the ship with views beyond the hull. The builder gives an overall length of 285.23 metres and a moulded beam of 32.25 metres. Those dimensions help explain its relationship to the other Vista ships, but do not imply that their accommodation inventories or later renovations are identical.
The current insurer lists 82,897 gross tonnage, whereas the builder's original particulars give a lower historical figure. This profile uses the current insured record for tonnage and retains the older figure in the source notes. Published double occupancy is 1,972 guests. No maximum passenger total is calculated from the builder's total-persons allowance or from the number of cabins, since these measure different things.
Noordam appears in the operator's 2026 Alaska programme, including a longer Alaska-to-Hawaii voyage. That is a dated example of deployment rather than a permanent promise that the ship always sails in one region. A journey combining scenic Alaska and Hawaii calls also demands attention to sea days, the actual endpoints and flights; a ship name alone does not make it interchangeable with a short round trip.
The contractor documents completed work in Freeport in 2022. Later maintenance claims have not been sufficiently reconciled here to call that the latest full refurbishment. Noordam is also included in the future Evolution programme. Announced changes remain future work in this profile. For booking, use the deck plan and cabin description applicable to the selected departure and distinguish those from illustrations of the proposed transformation.

A dash means no independently verified value is available. Guest counts at double occupancy and maximum capacity are different measures. GT measures enclosed volume, not weight.
