About us MSC Poesia

MSC Poesia entered service in 2008 as the third ship of MSC Cruises' Musica family. Its original construction took place in Saint-Nazaire, France. The ship completed a major refurbishment in 2026 before the line's first Alaska season. That completed work must be distinguished from the future upgrade announcements for Musica and Orchestra, even though all belong to the same broader family.

The current operator reference gives 92,627 gross tonnage, 293.8 metres overall length and 32.2 metres breadth. It lists 1,223 cabins, approximately 1,039 crew and a full guest reference of 3,223. The older October 2024 sheet had 1,275 cabins, before the new private accommodation was added. The current cabin reference is retained; old category inventories are not treated as a description of the post-refurbishment ship.

The operator confirmed Poesia's departure from dry dock in April 2026 and the first Alaska sailing from Seattle on 11 May. Yacht Club, Butcher's Cut and an enhanced Kaito Sushi Bar were part of the upgrade presentation, alongside renewed spa and fitness spaces. Yacht Club is a specific room-and-service product; those private privileges do not accompany every ordinary balcony cabin.

The 2026 Alaska season ran through September in the announced programme. This history does not establish an Alaska departure on the date a reader happens to visit the page. Match the actual sailing to its embarkation port, destination sequence and time aboard before arranging travel. Seasonal deployment and an individual holiday booking are separate pieces of information.

For accommodation, use the current plan and category terms, especially around areas changed during refurbishment. Check beds, view, balcony limitations and the route to your expected meal and meeting places. Compare the time left for indoor recreation with the number and length of port calls. Poesia's present accommodation and upgraded venues provide a useful choice when considered together with the itinerary, rather than combining an old deck plan with a new promotional promise.
