About us Eurodam

Capacity note: the guest figures discussed below come from older published specifications. The corporate fleet table dated August 2026 gives a different count, so a current comparable capacity remains unconfirmed.

Eurodam introduced the Signature generation to Holland America Line in 2008. Built at Fincantieri's Marghera yard, it was delivered in June before its July inaugural period. Carnival's contemporary financial announcement confirms that delivery had actually occurred, rather than simply reporting an order or a planned date. The ship's permanent IMO number is 9378448. Nieuw Amsterdam followed as its Signature sister two years later, while the Pinnacle ships represent a subsequent generation.

At 285.3 metres overall, Eurodam is shorter than those Pinnacle vessels. Its moulded beam is 32.3 metres, and both the builder and current insurer list 86,273 gross tonnage. These measurements provide a firmer comparison than a loosely rounded description of ship size. Moulded beam is a defined hull measurement; it should not be confused with the maximum span of external equipment. Gross tonnage describes enclosed volume, not the vessel's mass.

The documented accommodation inventory contains 1,052 passenger cabins, with 2,104 guests at double occupancy. This baseline is useful for comparing scale but does not establish the maximum passengers aboard a fully occupied sailing. Similarly, crew accommodation counts in a technical sheet are not the number of people serving on every departure. The profile leaves those unresolved totals separate instead of calculating them from room counts.

Completed work in Freeport ran from February into March 2023 according to the logistics company involved. This is evidence of a real yard project. It is distinct from Eurodam's inclusion in the future Holland America Evolution programme, whose proposed new venues should not be assumed present on today's ship. A maintenance year also does not mean every cabin was rebuilt from scratch.

The builder describes diesel-electric machinery and ABB propulsion pods. Its stated service speed is not used as a maximum-speed specification. When deciding between Eurodam and a newer ship, compare the applicable cabin layout and itinerary rather than using age alone as a verdict on the holiday. If an advertised attraction belongs to a future refit, request the facilities list that applies to your actual departure date.
