Icy Strait Point (Hoonah)

Icy Strait Point is a cruise destination beside Hoonah on Chichagof Island in Southeast Alaska. It is a developed visitor and cruise area connected with the local community, rather than another name for a downtown dock in Juneau. Confirm the ship's assigned landing and excursion meeting point before planning the day. Hoonah and the cruise destination should not be treated as one universal passenger entrance.

Coordinates identify the general port, not a passenger entrance. A dash means the value has not been independently verified.

The destination's published ship-calendar key distinguishes Ocean Landing and Wilderness Landing, as well as tender arrangements. These are different arrival patterns. Follow current ship and destination instructions for moving between the assigned landing and activity areas. A calendar from an earlier season can explain the place names without establishing the current berth or operating hours of a future call.

Hoonah is reached through local air and sea connections. The destination describes its position a short flight from Juneau, while the Alaska Marine Highway provides another arrival possibility. A flight to Juneau alone does not complete the trip to the cruise facility. Confirm the onward island arrival and local transfer, with luggage and the actual ship's boarding window considered together.

No mainland passenger railway serves the cruise landing. For independent arrival, book the necessary air or sea stages and confirm access to the visitor area on the actual date. The operator states that the destination opens to visitors when a cruise ship is in port. That statement should not be interpreted as year-round operation of every excursion or a guaranteed transport link from every local arrival point.

The cannery museum, coastal paths and Native cultural activities give several ways to experience the destination. Some experiences require a separate booking through the cruise line or the attraction operator. Choose according to the actual call length and mobility needs, and confirm assistance for the complete route. The presence of accessible boardwalks does not by itself establish that every wildlife or adventure excursion suits every visitor.

CLAA's 2027 Icy Strait Point programme contains recurring Holland America, MSC, Norwegian and Princess entries, supporting those regular links. They remain future bookings and do not prove a completed visit or a fixed dock assignment. The coordinate uses NGA's general Hoonah harbour reference because the verified UN/LOCODE is for Hoonah and supplies no position. It is explicitly not the entrance of either cruise dock.
