About us Ventura
Ventura has served the P&O Cruises fleet since 2008, when Fincantieri delivered it from Monfalcone. The builder later described Azura as its sister, establishing a family relationship without making their current facilities interchangeable. Ventura's permanent IMO number is 9333175. Steamship Mutual gives a current gross tonnage of 116,017, rather than the rounded 116,000 used in the shipyard specification.
The operator positions Ventura as a family-oriented all-rounder, with Southampton named as its home port. Its listed regions include the Caribbean, Canary Islands and Atlantic-facing European destinations. Those programmes should be compared through the individual itinerary, particularly where long sea passages are involved. A ship offering several regions does not visit all of them within a single holiday.
Public spaces include the Arena Theatre, Havana show lounge and The Tamarind Club. The dining directory separately promotes The Glass House and Epicurean as additional-charge experiences. A family considering a full sea day can compare these indoor venues with the sports and pool options, while allowing for actual opening hours and the activity schedule. A venue being aboard does not mean every related purchase is included.
Ventura completed a refit in 2026. The operator's 26 February report describes it as fresh from the work, and a March interview with its captain confirms a major technical upgrade to the Arena Theatre. That retrospective evidence is stronger than an earlier maintenance timetable. It supports the completed year without inventing a precise return-to-service day or implying a newly built hull.
Fincantieri lists 290 metres overall, 36 metres moulded beam and 1,547 passenger cabins. Its 22.2-knot figure is explicitly service speed, so the maximum-speed field remains open. The maximum number of persons aboard includes crew and is not a verified passenger maximum. Fourteen guest decks in the operator overview are also distinct from total decks. Choose using the actual accommodation plan, route and expected spending, alongside the character of the public spaces you intend to use.
