About us Silver Wind

Silver Wind is Silversea's second early-generation vessel, built in 1995 and now employed for expedition voyages. Its permanent IMO number is 8903935. The current operator history distinguishes a December 2018 upgrade from the later November 2021 work that strengthened its ice-class capability. An older brochure's 2020 conversion label is therefore not used as the completed-refurbishment date.

The ship's current presentation lists 239 crew and twenty-four Zodiacs. These particulars give a more individual comparison than assuming that Wind shares every operational arrangement with Silver Cloud. Equipment numbers are useful context, but do not establish how many landings, outings or independent hours will be offered on a specific day.

A journey through polar or remote coastal regions requires some flexibility. Read the itinerary as a programme with practical operating decisions, and follow the expedition briefings for the day's arrangements. A general photograph of ice or wildlife does not promise an identical encounter. Choosing a departure by its geographic scope and time in the region is more useful than treating one promotional moment as the whole product.

The operator's published Greenland account illustrates the expedition setting through Zodiac transfers and a west-coast journey. That is an example of an actual regional experience, rather than a permanent route for Wind or a current guarantee for every Greenland reservation. Check the actual airport, embarkation point and included transfer when organising travel.

Suites vary in layout and outdoor space. Compare your room's location and confirmed benefits instead of assuming every category has the same arrangement. For time spent inside between outings, the position and type of accommodation can matter as much as a broader luxury description. Public-space proximity and personal preferences should be considered together with the daily programme.

The trade technical reference gives 156.7 metres overall length and 21.5 metres beam. Its eighteen-knot speed is not independently labelled as a maximum, so it is not promoted into that field. Current certified passenger capacity, physical deck total and individual registered tonnage require further confirmation. Wind's expedition conversion is established, while those unresolved technical bases remain separate from the ship's confirmed current passenger programme.
