About us Oceania Sonata
Oceania Sonata is an actual construction project at Fincantieri's Marghera yard, rather than an order counted as an active passenger ship. Steel cutting took place on 4 June 2025. The keel-laying followed in February 2026, and the completed hull was floated out on 27 August 2026. Work then continued at the fitting-out berth ahead of planned delivery in 2027.
The ship begins the new Sonata Class. Its design is a further development of the Allura generation, but announced spaces and accommodation should not be assumed identical to Vista or Allura. The operator's float-out account specifies 695 rooms and suites. That project inventory is recorded without deriving a certified maximum from the number of rooms or treating approximate design tonnage as final registry measurement.
An August 2027 debut remains a future programme at the research date. The announced maiden voyage runs from Rome to Trieste through Mediterranean and Adriatic destinations. Future itineraries can be useful for comparing departure and arrival gateways, but they do not demonstrate completed passenger operations. Leave room for subsequent updates to timing and route before organising independent connections.
La Table par Maîtres Cuisiniers de France and Nikkei Kitchen form the distinctive new dining concepts. La Table is planned as a small reservation-only wine-pairing experience with additional charges. Nikkei Kitchen interprets Japanese and Peruvian culinary traditions as an evening venue. Neither announced concept is described here as already serving passengers, and the operator labels the ship's dining information preliminary.
The suite programme includes new categories and a larger range of premium accommodation. A rendering communicates an intended design rather than showing a completed room available today. Compare the actual category plan, sleeping arrangement and included services when assessing a future reservation. A broad description of spaciousness is less useful than the specific room selected.
Sonata's completed build year and entry into passenger service remain empty until those events occur. Final registered tonnage, individual IMO confirmation, physical deck inventory and operational crew complement require further verification. A float-out demonstrates real construction progress; it does not mean sea trials, handover or a first commercial sailing have already happened. The vessel therefore stays separate from Oceania's seven active ships in the current fleet count.

A dash means no independently verified value is available. Guest counts at double occupancy and maximum capacity are different measures. GT measures enclosed volume, not weight.
