About us Island Princess

Island Princess began passenger service in July 2003 after construction at Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire. Its individual IMO is 9230402. Although related to Coral Princess, subsequent work changed the accommodation and public-space arrangement, so their present layouts should not be treated as interchangeable. The name Island Princess was also used by an earlier ship; that history does not supply this vessel's technical specifications.

The 2015 refurbishment is documented by both an operator brochure and the outfitting contractor. Marine Interiors identifies work on 88 cabins at Trieste as its own project scope, not as the ship's total inventory. That distinction helps avoid turning a contractor's partial job into a complete room count. Later maintenance also needs to be separated from the more substantial layout history.

Bordeaux and Provence are the main dining rooms. The current operator page identifies La Patisserie and a buffet among the other meal settings, with poolside pizza and a grill adding simpler stops. Reserved specialities should be assessed by the conditions of the booked fare. A smaller ship can still require planning around excursion return times or a preferred evening meal; fewer guests do not guarantee a table without checking arrangements.

Princess Theater provides staged entertainment, while the Piazza, Crooners and Wheelhouse Bar offer different social settings. Movies Under the Stars adds an outdoor screening option. Coral's Universe Lounge is not copied into the current Island description. Travellers can compare these actual rooms with the daily programme and the position of a proposed cabin, especially when choosing between late entertainment and an early start ashore.

Current insurer and operator agree on 92,822 GT, and the insurer confirms Hamilton, Bermuda registry rather than the United Kingdom in an older fact sheet. The explicit fleet lower-berth base is 2,210. A 1,107-room inventory is supported by the updated fact sheet and a separate deck reference, whereas a product page still quotes the smaller original layout. The latest recorded yard period was in 2024. Original diesel and gas-turbine documentation is retained as history, with today's precise propulsion arrangement left unresolved rather than assumed unchanged.
