About us EUROPA 2
EUROPA 2 entered service in May 2013 and forms the more relaxed luxury-ocean counterpart to EUROPA within Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. The ship was built at Saint-Nazaire by STX France, the yard now known as Chantiers de l'Atlantique. Hamburg's cruise-terminal directory records IMO 9616230. The shared EUROPA name should not be taken as proof of an identical hull, room plan or onboard routine.
The operator currently advertises a maximum of 500 guests and outside suites with their own verandas. Its charter information describes suite sizes from 35 to 114 square metres and seven gourmet restaurants. The product deliberately avoids formal traditions such as a captain's dinner, giving travellers a different starting point from a more ceremonial cruise. This is a description of the ship's style, not permission to ignore the actual requirements published for an individual venue.
Public spaces extend beyond dining. The ship has a two-level theatre, Belvedere, Club 2, a studio and an ocean-facing spa and fitness area. These provide different options for a sea day, evening event or private group activity. Optional private arrangements and shore experiences remain separate purchases; their availability in a charter brochure does not make them standard inclusions for every passenger.
The operator's technical brochure lists 42,830 gross tonnage, 225.38 metres length, 26.7 metres beam and a maximum speed of 21 knots. Its published 500-guest operating limit is retained instead of silently substituting Hamburg's generic 515-passenger figure. Neither value establishes a current double-occupancy count. Room inventory is also treated separately from occupancy and is not multiplied to manufacture a maximum.
A Singapore docking period announced for January 2027 is future work as of this review. It is not recorded as a completed refurbishment. The practical comparison should use the accommodation and services of the departure being booked, alongside today's German-English fleet programme. EUROPA 2 offers its own interpretation of a small luxury ship, rather than a renamed version of EUROPA.

A dash means no independently verified value is available. Guest counts at double occupancy and maximum capacity are different measures. GT measures enclosed volume, not weight.
