About us Azura
Azura is a family-friendly P&O Cruises ship delivered by Fincantieri at Monfalcone in 2010. Its sister relationship with the earlier Ventura is documented by the builder, but each ship has its own public rooms and later refurbishment history. The current insurer identifies Azura by IMO 9424883 and 115,055 gross tonnage. That agreement with the detailed shipyard tonnage is more useful than mixing it with a rounded fleet-wide size category.
The operator currently presents Azura for Mediterranean and Canary Islands holidays, naming Valletta and Santa Cruz de Tenerife as home ports. A fly-cruise comparison should therefore include the journey to the actual embarkation airport and port. A list of regions is not a promise that every departure visits every island or that the flight component is included in every fare offered through every market.
SeaScreen provides a poolside outdoor cinema, while the Playhouse Theatre and three-level atrium offer other ways to spend time aboard. The accommodation directory distinguishes inside, sea-view and balcony rooms from suites. Compare a real category and position before using a ship-wide photograph to judge the room: a public lounge says little about a specific balcony or window.
Azura's 2025 refit is confirmed by the operator's April retrospective. The published work included updated restaurant and bar interiors, renewed furnishings in most cabins and selected suites, corridor carpeting and replacement of six whirlpools. This is a defined refurbishment scope, not evidence that every cabin received an identical renovation. Sindhu and The Glass House are among the named venues discussed in the report.
The builder specifies 289.6 metres overall, 36 metres moulded beam and 1,538 passenger cabins. Its total-person capacity includes crew, so it is not used as the maximum number of guests. The published service speed is likewise not relabelled as a verified maximum. For a useful holiday comparison, combine Azura's actual route with room choice, dining requirements and the services priced in the booking.
