About us Azamara Pursuit

Azamara Pursuit was built in France in 2001 as R Eight. Azamara acquired the vessel in 2017, and the operator's own history records its introduction to the brand's passenger programme in August 2018 after a refit. Those are separate milestones. A 2018 inaugural cruise for Azamara does not turn the underlying ship into a 2018 newbuild.

Pursuit shares R-class ancestry with Journey, Quest and Onward. This makes its overall scale a useful starting point for comparison, without establishing identical accommodation or public-room layouts. Check the actual ship and reserved category rather than relying on an image of a sister ship. A similar exterior can conceal differences important to a particular traveller.

The current ship page describes the Drawing Room as a library and the Living Room as a space for social activity. They provide alternatives for time spent aboard between destinations. Consider how often your selected itinerary has days at sea, early arrivals or late departures. The value of a quiet reading space or a social lounge depends partly on the rhythm of that journey.

When choosing accommodation, look at position as well as the category name. Routes between the cabin and regularly used public rooms may influence day-to-day convenience. Verify accessibility and any assistance requirements using the specific room and embarkation details. Neither a fleet-wide description nor an attractive suite photograph resolves those individual questions.

Azamara's ship factsheet reports an August 2024 refurbishment. Its passenger inventory differs from the capacity stated in the later corporate admission document, so this record does not manufacture a reconciled double-occupancy figure. A published approximate fleet size is also different from a separately evidenced ship maximum.

Before arranging travel, align the confirmed embarkation port and time with independent transport. Compare shore plans against the actual time available in each destination. Pursuit's destination-oriented positioning is most useful when translated into a specific schedule: how much time is available ashore, when you return aboard, and what accommodation suits the time you expect to spend at sea.
