Port reference

New Orleans

New Orleans combines Mississippi River scenery with ocean-cruise departures towards the Caribbean. The ocean passenger facilities are Erato Street Cruise Terminal and Julia Street Cruise Terminal, close to one another on the riverfront. River cruises also operate from New Orleans, but their vessels and boarding arrangements should not be confused with an ocean cruise. In particular, a Mississippi river programme does not establish an ocean-fleet connection for the same corporate brand.

Coordinates identify the general port, not a passenger entrance. A dash means the value has not been independently verified.

Port NOLA gives Erato Street's passenger address as 1100 Port of New Orleans Place and Julia Street's as 920 Port of New Orleans Place. These are different from the port's general administration address. Confirm the terminal on the cruise documents before selecting a transfer destination or parking reservation. The port's approach instructions use Henderson Street and warn against trying to enter the terminal road from Julia Street or Poydras Street.

Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, code MSY, is the air gateway. The airport lists taxis, ride-app services, shuttles and public buses. Its Airport Express 202 connects with downtown stops including Union Passenger Terminal, followed by a separate connection to the cruise entrance. An airport bus ticket alone does not complete the journey to Erato or Julia Street.

For a rail arrival at Union Passenger Terminal, likewise plan the final city transfer and baggage handling. A riverfront streetcar can support a visit within the city, but it should not be assumed to provide every traveller's final accessible route to check-in. Allow time for the passenger entrance, document checks and the boarding window, as well as the road or local-transport journey itself.

The French Quarter, Riverwalk area and National WWII Museum provide possibilities for a pre-cruise stay or a city visit that fits the travel schedule. Check attraction admission and opening separately from terminal operations. The general harbour coordinate here is not a cruise-door pin. Distinct Carnival Liberty voyages in January 2027 depart New Orleans on different dates, supporting Carnival's regular connection. Always use the actual sailing's terminal and arrival appointment rather than a generic city timetable.
