Port reference

Bilbao (Getxo)

Bilbao's cruise terminal is in Getxo beside the marina and Ereaga beach, not in central Bilbao. The port authority and Getxo municipality both make this location explicit. A shore excursion to Bilbao therefore involves an onward journey, while the waterfront and old fishing port of Getxo offer a different local visit. Confirm the actual cruise-facility destination before arranging a pickup or booking a city hotel transfer.

Coordinates identify the general port, not a passenger entrance. A dash means the value has not been independently verified.

The port's cruise facilities include separate Getxo passenger-station references. Use the assigned building and berth in your sailing documents rather than assuming that every ship uses one fixed terminal door. The wider port handles other types of traffic as well, so a general Bilbao port address can point far from the passenger approach. A vehicle reservation should specify the permitted meeting place.

Bilbao Airport is the relevant flight gateway. Aena identifies Bizkaibus A3247 as the airport–Bilbao city connection. That is not a direct service to the cruise terminal in Getxo. A journey using that bus needs its onward city-to-Getxo connection and final terminal approach. Check current operator notices and the actual travel date rather than relying on an unchanged list of intermediate stops.

Getxo municipality identifies metro line1 and Gobela or Neguri as station options near the cruise area. A metro ride still needs a street-level walk or transfer to the ship's passenger entrance. Choose the route for your luggage and walking ability, and check the return connection before spending a day farther into Bilbao. No railway stop at the gangway is implied.

Getxo's old port, Ereaga and the Hanging Bridge area are distinct local destinations. Bilbao's museums and historic centre require another travel plan rather than being treated as immediate quay neighbours. An independent shore day should include enough time to reach the actual terminal and satisfy the ship's boarding deadline.

The authority's27 October2026 season report records eight MSC visits, supporting the regular brand link here. It identifies that date as the season's final calls, so older forward listings are not presented as evidence of a ship in port today. The coordinate is the general official Bilbao harbour reference, not a terminal entrance in Getxo.
