About us Seabourn Venture
Seabourn Venture began passenger service on 27 July 2022, departing Tromsø on an expedition toward the Arctic and Svalbard. Its builder, T. Mariotti in Genoa, had delivered the ship on 29 June. Keeping these dates separate explains the difference between ownership handover and the first guests aboard. Earlier proposed launch schedules are historical plans rather than the actual service date.
Venture was Seabourn's first purpose-built expedition ship, later joined by Pursuit. Its PC6 polar standard is a specific design characteristic. It does not make every polar route, landing or activity available in all conditions. The booked itinerary and daily expedition arrangements explain what guests can actually do in a particular region.
The accommodation comprises 132 veranda suites. Compare the specific layout, balcony and position before assuming all rooms provide the same interior or outlook. Space for expedition clothing and the route between accommodation and departure areas can be practical considerations. The general promise of suite accommodation does not replace the details of the actual reserved room.
The current operator page lists 264 guests. The exact occupancy basis remains separately documented as unresolved rather than being derived by multiplying suites. Likewise, an expedition-team count from the launch is not substituted for today's complete crew complement. Individual current insurance data identifies IMO 9862023, gross tonnage of 23615 and Nassau registry. These particulars distinguish the actual vessel from approximate design publicity.
Zodiac and kayak programmes appear in the operator's expedition information, with inclusions and optional activities distinguished. Check the individual tour description, access arrangements and departure conditions. A published activity list is not a daily timetable, and a photograph from an earlier season does not establish present availability.
For comparison with an ocean ship, focus on the planned destination experience rather than tonnage alone. Expedition briefings and small-boat arrangements shape the day differently from a conventional port itinerary. Review the actual route, time aboard and accommodation together. This gives a clearer basis for choosing between Venture and a larger Seabourn ocean vessel than a general luxury label.
