About us Seabourn Encore
Seabourn Encore was delivered by Fincantieri at Marghera on 30 November 2016. Its formal naming followed in Singapore on 7 January 2017, with Sarah Brightman as godmother. The ceremony should not be confused with construction completion. Earlier advertised preview sailings and the formal inaugural programme are kept distinct when assessing the original passenger-service date.
Encore and Ovation share the operator's larger ocean design. The accommodation consists of 300 suites, all with verandas. Seabourn explicitly defines the published 600-guest figure as double occupancy of lower berths. That basis is more useful for comparison than treating the same number as a separately certified maximum. A builder's total-persons figure includes a different population and is not substituted for passenger capacity.
Fincantieri's individual technical page identifies 210 metres overall length, a moulded beam of 28 metres and diesel-electric propulsion. Maximum speed is listed separately from service speed. These distinctions matter when comparing ships: a dimensional basis or operating condition cannot be replaced by a superficially similar headline number. The current insurer entry independently identifies gross tonnage of 41865 and the ship's permanent IMO.
In May 2026 Seabourn introduced a regional culinary programme for Encore's first Alaska season. Food and drinks connected with that destination formed part of that dated deployment. This does not make Alaska a permanent year-round assignment, nor imply that every menu on later voyages remains identical. Choose the actual sailing and its current programme.
For accommodation, compare room position and the reserved layout. Having a private veranda throughout the ship does not make outdoor dimensions or interior arrangements uniform. Seabourn Square provides a social focal point, while the spa and Retreat are separately described experiences whose arrangements should be checked before booking. Consider your likely daily route between suite and public spaces. A technical similarity to Ovation is a starting point for comparison, not a promise that every itinerary, activity or reservation benefit matches.
